Friday September 7
Kick-Off Grand Tasting Reception at the Bar Harbor Club 7-9:30pm

Join us for the last hurrah of summer with an elegant evening of wine, jazz and food on the grounds of the historic Bar Harbor Club to kick-off the opening of the 1st annual Bar Harbor Food and Wine Classic. The Grand Tasting will feature celebrity Maine chefs at cooking stations, dozens of wines and winery representatives, cheese makers and local wine retailers, all along the banks of beautiful Frenchman’s Bay.

Originally built in the 1930’s, the Bar Harbor Club was once a private playground for the town’s wealthiest summer residents. Now meticulously restored, the Tudor-styled building and terraced lawns are more glamorous than ever providing a unique seaside venue. Tickets for the Grand Tasting are limited and will sell quickly. Louis Martini Gnarly Vine, Sonoma Valley,  2003 and 2004
92 points, Winereviewonline.com Dec. 5, 2006 Gnarled vines over 100 years old from the heart of the Monte Rosso Vineyard yielded this concentrated, characteristic mountain-grown Zinfandel.  A Zin with big, ripe, slightly jammy berry aromas and flavors, accented with sweet spice, vanilla and anise. The finish carries a touch of black pepper. This is a monster wine that amply shows the power of Monte Rosso fruit. Less than 200 cases made.

Rancho Zabaco Monte Rosso Vineyard, 'Toreador, Russian River Valley' 2004
94 points, Robert Parker, Wine Advocate
December 2006
The 2004 Zinfandel Monte Rosso Toreador is absolutely amazing and one of the great Zinfandels of that vintage. This wine boasts a dense ruby/purple color and a big, sweet nose of ground pepper, dried herbs, lavender, black cherry jam, raspberry, and licorice. Full-bodied, powerful, and concentrated, this stunning Zinfandel should drink well for up to a decade. Less than 180 cases made
